Minimalist Hybrid Electric Shantyboat

Once again the Duckworks blog provides grist for the mill.

Gene Townsend of Dunlap, Illinois has posted a story complete with photos of the Minimalist Electric Powered Shantyboat he uses on the Illinois River.

If you’ve got the itch to build your own get-away on a limited budget this story is well worth the read for Townsend’s solutions for powering his craft. He claims a 200 mile cruising range with just two 5-gallon cans, but it’s not powering an outboard. You’ve got to go to the link above to find out how he does this.
